My God, it has become hard to simply cancel a service. I spent pretty much a full week just to cancel this service I no longer use. The process is just so elaborate, and, of course, every step of the way they throw promotions and discounts, just to make you agree to 1 more month. I wish things could be simpler, but their fear of losing a customer speaks louder than the voice of reason. Thankfully, it seems that not all service providers believe in full control over their customers. There was a service that I used not too long ago called OriaPay, that actually let me unsubscribe with no hassles. Just 5 minutes and I was out. Of course, OriaPay is just a company that does billing and customer service for some select companies, but they have an amazing subscription management system that works wonders.
In a service like OriaPay, all you need to do is:
- Go to OriaPay’s homepage, login using the e-mail you used to register, and the password that was emailed to you by OriaPay. If you can’t find the password in your inbox, try checking the spam folder. After you have everything and are logged in, go to the “Your Access” page and click “Cancel” on the subscription you wish to cancel. The cancelation takes effect immediately but will last until the end of the already paid period. Like I said above, it really is just 5 minutes.
- If you don’t have your credentials with you or don’t remember them, there is a second option you can use. First, if you have your e-mail but not your password, use the “Cancel My Subscription” form on the homepage, to get your password again. Second, if you really don’t remember your credentials, you are going to have to use the credit card you used to make the purchase. Simply find the credit card form and enter the first 6 and last 4 digits of the credit card. After that, you will log in. Now just go to the “Your Access” page, find the subscription you want to cancel, and click the cancel button.
There you have it, two easy ways to cancel a subscription that shouldn’t take you more than 5 minutes to accomplish. If you couldn’t do it by following those 2 ways, don’t worry. You can always use their customer support. Just call them during their work hours and have all the information needed at hand so that the process can be as smooth as possible.
